What is Fimo?

Fimo is a type of polymer clay. It is a man-made oil-based clay that can be formed into detailed shapes, blended with colors and baked in a regular oven to harden. The clay is distributed by Eberhard Faber, a German company and is available in arts & craft stores, toy stores, craft section of some stores, etc. FIMO is an acronym consisting of "FI" for Fifi Rehbinder, the inventor of the clay, and "MO" for mosaik, a German word for blended colors. It is the most popular of the polymer clay family - Cernit, Formello, Promat, Sculpey and Fimo.
